“The Parting Glass” is a traditional Scottish song dating back to 1700 often sung just before a gathering of friends parts ways. As of 2017 it is also the name of a dramatic feature film starring Anna Paquin, Cynthia Nixon, Paul Gross, Rhys Ifans and Edward Asner. It is the story of a family reuniting in the event of their youngest sister’s mysterious death. We follow their road trip across Midwestern America as they collect her belongings and piece together their memories of the woman they lost.
The film takes place in the present day, however the characters pass through some old fashioned locations.
